The english-polish pianist Benjamin Malcolm Mead began his studies with Prof. Boguslaw Strobel at the Robert Schumann Hochschule in Düsseldorf in 2011 and will be continuing his studies at the Royal Academy of Music with Michael Dussek and Malcolm Martineau this autumn. Masterclasses with Georg Friedrich Schenck, Graham Johnson, Harmut Höll and Wolfram Rieger complement his studies. Since 2012 he annually performs at the International Euregio Rhein–Waal Studentmusicfestival. Mead is a scholarship holder of the Richard Wagner Society Düsseldorf and Yehudi Menuhins founded organisation Live Music Now.
Since 2014 he performs as a Liedduo with Swiss Soprano Franziska Andrea Heinzen with whom he is receiving the music endowment award of the state capital of Düsseldorf this year. The two young musicians took first prize at the 2. International Song-Competition Rhein-Ruhr in april of 2017, are laureates of the international competition Les saisons de la voix 2016 in Gordes (France) and received a special award from Juvetudes de musica españa in giving a series of song recitals in Spain in the Season of 2017/2018. They received the music endowment award of the state capital of Düsseldorf last year and gave their debut recital at the new song series dedicated to Schubert in Barcelona initiated by the Schubertíada de Vilabertran in march of 2018.
